Aden Jeffries first appeared as a student at Summer Bay High during 2005, featuring in Episode 4019. He was born and raised in Summer Bay, but due to the untimely death of his mother and his fathers alcoholism he was brought up by his abusive grandfather Stanley Jefferies who had served in the army some years ago. He has two older brothers, Sean and Justin.He began dating Cassie Turner, but their relationship ended after Ric Dalby (Cassie's foster brother and ex-boyfriend) was beaten up and almost killed by Aden's older brother, Sean. Aden wasn't seen again until 2007 when he reappeared as a school bully who caused trouble for most other students.
Geoff Campbell became the main target of Aden's hateful tactics, mainy because of his strong Christian beliefs, but also because he joined the football team which Aden was the main star of. In Aden's eyes, Geoff became the 'pet' of trainer Tony Holden which only fuelled Aden's dislike for 'bible boy' further. Pretending to befriend Geoff one night on a team celebration, Aden and his pals succesfully got Geoff drunk for the first time. They then tied him up in the boot of a car and left him there. However, Aden's horrible pranks backfired on him when he ended up being expelled from the football team, and banned from the gym.
In October 2007, Aden hooked up briefly with Tamsyn Armstrong, Brad and Rachel's half-sister. He went so far as to invite her to the Year 12 Formal, but then dumped her two days before it happened. He himself was banned from going to the formal later on.
In November 2007, Aden was involved in a drunken car crash. Traveling in the car were Cassie Turner, Matilda Hunter, Aden, and his cousin Simon Jeffries. Cassie had been forced to drive even though she had had a drink and was not allowed more than one other person in the car with her. In the aftermath of the crash Aden was seriously injuried with fractured ribs, a broken wrist and a "shattered" leg. His leg later developed "Department Syndrome" which saw him undergo emergency surgery to prevent possible amputation.
In February 2008, we finally began to see a 'good side' to Aden Jeffries, who had become locally known as Summer Bay's Bad Boy. He was wrongly accused of getting Annie Campbell drunk and taking advantage of her when he was seen on the beach with her in his arms. However, Morag Bellingham believed she saw holes in Annie's story, and pursued Aden until he agreed to allow her help him. He was later cleared of all charges when Annie confessed that she had been lying.
March 2008 saw Cassie Turner's discovery that she was HIV positive. After a turmoiling period of painful realisation, Cassie decided she wanted to speak to students of the HSC class in Summer Bay High about the dangers of unsafe sex. During this revelation, Aden had a flashback to the car crash which they had been in. He stormed out of the classroom, with Cassie chasing him, only for him to remind her angrily that they had had blood contact in the aftermath of the car crash, which is a way for HIV to be passed on. Aden had tests done, and was luckily in the clear.
In April 2008, it become clear that Aden was hiding a disturbing secret about his childhood, when he reacted angrily to a newspaper article in which his deceased grandfather Stanley was mentioned. It became clear that Aden was sexually abused by his grandfather while growing up. When he finally confronted his father Larry about the abuse, they got into a physical fight which was broken up by Roman Harris. Roman took Aden to his own house to stay, however Aden saw a photo of Roman from his army days and was reminded of his grandfather and fled. Later on he was left on the brink of death when he was trapped under a fallen beam in the old Diner where he took shelter, he was rescued by resident psychic Floss McPhee and Sally Fletcher. He suffered minor memory loss following the incident.
In late April he was released from hospital and moved in with Roman. When Roman's daughter Nicole Franklin arrived in Summer Bay there was instant chemistry.
In May, Aden and Nicole made a bet the Nicole could sleep with Geoff within 2 weeks (Stipulation:If Nicole lost Aden would win $200, If Aden lost Nicole would win $200). Aden won the bet when Geoff found out about the bet. On May 20th, Aden and Nicole kissed and almost slept together, however Aden reacted violently to Nicole throwing herself at him, and stormed away after the two exchanged words.
In June at a party thrown by Nicole, Melody Jones was attacked and almost assaulted by Axel Hay. As a result a week later when Aden discovered what Axel had done, he beat Axel up viciously.
Working part-time at the Diner while repeating Year 12, Aden developed feelings for Belle Taylor. After weeks of Belle denying her attraction towards Aden, it was finally confirmed when she was seen taking pictures of a topless Aden on the beach in the morning after Nicole's party, in which the new found attitude of Aden had made Belle even more attracted, and her attraction to him could then not be doubted. They clashed when Aden assaulted Axel Hay for sexually abusing Melody Jones - an act which Belle did not understand at the time, but would later. The two were brought closer together after Aden's father was taken to hospital, where Belle began showing genuine signs of affection after opting to remain with Aden at the hospital to provide her support. After this, Aden got drunk and climbed through the window of Belle's bedroom. Previously, Belle would have thrown him out but her growing feelings for him meant that she could not reject him. The two kissed the next day after Aden found out that Belle had taken photos of him - and he was now sure that she felt the same way. Then followed a period of denial for Belle, who was ashamed to accept her true feelings for the bad boy Aden.
Once she embraced her affection, the two embarked on a relationship. Everything ran smoothly until Aden was unwilling to sleep with Belle, which prompted her to think that he may of gone off her. Then, in order to stop Belle finding out about the sexual abuse he had at the hands of his grandfather, Aden called Belle a skank and broke up with her. After they broke up, Belle went out on a date with Angelo - which she had previously been uneasy to do but when she spotted Aden watching her talking to Angelo - she went on a date with Angelo to spite Aden. Aden's jealousy upon seeing Belle with another man caused him to reveal all to Belle about the abuse suffered at the hands of his grandfather - Belle took him back to the displeasure of Irene.
Aden soon revealed to Belle that he had been going to the counseling sessions to show her how much she meant to him. After Aden received a call from the Bank who informed him that if the mortgage payments were not made up to date, the Bank would repossess it and sell it. Belle offered her life savings of $4000 for Aden to use to pay off the mortgage so he could keep the house and sell it on his own terms. After going to the bank and showing Aden the money at Roman's house, the two headed upstairs and had sex again. Belle told him that they could slow down if he wanted to, but he told her that he wanted to continue to be intimate with her, saying he felt 'so close' to her. When the two headed back down stairs, the $4000 was gone. After suspecting Elliot it turned out that Larry, Aden's fugitive father had stolen the money.
Soon after, Aden's father Larry accidentally killed Axel in a drunken hit and run. Aden tracked Larry down where Larry revealed he had also been abused. Realising this meant Larry could have prevented his own abuse, Aden planned to let him die and when first Rachel Armstrong and then Belle turned up he took them hostage before trying to finish off Larry with a lethal injection, only stopping when Belle called out she loved him. Aden was put into rehab, and Belle soon found comfort in the arms of Angelo Rosetta.
Both Aden and Larry were arrested and Aden was charged with kidnap and attempted murder. After telling the court about his abuse, he was given community service. Instead of being sent to prison he was sent to a psychiatric clinic. In the following days Belle broke up with Aden. In September he made a break through about Larry during a therapy session. Now allowed to have day release he decided to visit Belle, but was left devastated when he witnessed a kiss between Belle and Angelo Rosetta. When Belle realised that Aden witnessed the kiss she tried to visit him at the clinic but he refused to see her and told Roman that he was happy that she had moved on. When Aden arrived at the psychiatric clinic he was shocked to find that Melody Jones (Geoff Campbell's ex-girlfriend) was also a patient at the clinic.
After being released from the clinic he bumped into Belle on the beach and he admitted that he was happy for her seeing as their lives were now going in different directions. In September, Aden returned to work at the Diner but quit after Belle kept pushing for them to have a close friendship(he refuses as he is still in love with Belle). After quitting he quickly got a new job working as a labourer at the development site, which Belle openly disapproves of. Annoyed with Belle's constant interference in his life he told her to stay out of his life for good.
In episode 4726, Aden's first day in court ended with him firing his lawyer when the lawyer attempted to mention the abuse Aden had suffered, court was adjourned until the next day. Belle had been on the stand at the time, and it was her untimely mention of his abuse that caused the explosion. After a heated discussion between the two later that day, Belle finally convinced him to open up to the courts about his abuse. The next day, Morag Bellingham, acting as his lawyer, gently coaxed the information from Aden. Belle was present at the court room, and he locked eyes with her, drawing strength and courage from her unwavering support. A shocked jury went to discuss, and returned to announce that Aden was found guilty of kidnapping, non-guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to 100 hours community service.
Having been fired from the construction site, he entered into a secret relationship with Belle, behind Angelo's back, and supported her on her fight against the site. Belle realized that she still loved Aden. He told her that she had to tell Angelo about the 2 of them. But when Angelo was attacked and had to go to hospital for treatment she told Aden that now was not the right time to break it off with him. When Belle kept putting off telling Angelo, Aden broke up with her, refusing to date her until Angelo knew the truth. But by then it was too late; Angelo had seen them together, and pubically announced their betrayal at a town meeting. This of course caused intense friction between Aden and Angelo.
Belle and Aden returned to their loving relationship, but when Belle was found unconcious and beaten up on the floor of her bedroom, all eyes turned suspiciously to Angelo as he was the last one to see her. However, he was cleared of the charges. Aden brought Belle to his Year 12 formal in the cliffhanger episode, and when Kane's car struck the building, Belle lay trapped beneath a heavy shelving unit. With Geoff's strong help, Aden managed to drag Belle free and carried her heroically out of the burning building, where he then accompanied her to hospital, and remained at her side while they were waiting for the specialist to come.
